Colleen Quigley ran a personal-best 8:40.23 in the women's 3,000 meters to place second at the Prickly Pear Invitational at Brophy Prep in Phoenix. Quigley was racing for Achieving My Purpose, a women's organization based in Phoenix that provides programming, resources and experiences that empower young women of color to embrace and achieve their own purposes. Quigley, competing for the first time since departing the Bowerman Track Club to pursue other professional sponsorship opportunities, surpassed her pre-meet goal of racing $3,000, one dollar for every meter she would cover.
