Elise Cranny, representing Nike's Bowerman Track Club, ran a personal-best 8:40.33 to finish fourth in the women's 3,000 meters at the Prickly Pear Invitational at Brophy Prep in Phoenix. Cranny was one of four Bowerman athletes to run under 9 minutes in the group's first event following a five-week altitude training camp in Flagstaff.
